Elizabeth Walker was born in 1828 in Dunbarton, Scotland.
She married John King on 30 July 1861 at New Kilpatrick, Dunbarton, Scotland.
John and Elizabeth had their first child, Jane, in April 1862. Soon after, they emigrated to New Zealand, on the vessel Robert Henderson, which was the first immigrant ship to land at Bluff, Southland, New Zealand. At that time Bluff was known as Campbelltown, and the King family with eight children continued to live there for many years.
The notice of her death in the Southland Times reads:
KING - At the residence of her son-in-law, Mr John Smith, Burrows St, Campbelltown, on Thursday 23rd March 1911, Elizabeth, relict of the late John King; aged 73 years. Her end was peace. Flowers respectfully declined.
