George Hall was born in 1850, in Quantockshead, Somersetshire, England.
His parents were John and Jane Hole, who had ten children in total, and lived in East Quantockshead, where John worked as a labourer.
George married Mary Ann Eames in 1872.
They lived in Tudor Street, Bristol, England.
George worked as Beams Man’s Tanner, whose job was to “drape part-cured skins over a Tanners Beam, a flat slab of wood or stone, to scrape off the remaining flesh, fat and hair”.
He died in 1906, in Bristol.
