Harold John King was born in Bluff, New Zealand, in 1897. He was the third son of John and Janet King.
He worked as a Ploughman for W. Dundas in Ida Valley, Central Otago. During World War 1 he was a Rifleman in the NZ Army, and travelled to Suez and the United Kingdom. Service No. 68918.
He married Elsie May Coates in 1923.
Harold died on 24 March 1963.
