Wallace Watson King (on the right) was born in 1890 in Bluff, New Zealand. He was the eldest son of John and Janet King.
He was in the army during World War 1 and sailed to England on the vessel Turakina in April 1917. Service No. 41142. He was classed as unfit for active service due to an ear problem, but worked as a Quartermaster Sergeant.
Wallace was recorded with the occupation Civil Servant in the Valuation Dept, Invercargill.
For a while he worked in the Land and Income Tax Department, in Wellington.
He married Amy Chisholm on 23 March 1921, at the Methodist Church in Hataitai, Wellington. Amy was the only daughter of William Edward and Emily Sarah Ann Chisholm of Hataitai. Wallace and Amy returned to the South Island to live in Dunedin.
Wallace died on 8 April 1961.
